- Secured the dismissal of $80 million malpractice claim against Vermont law firm based on legal opinions regarding municipal contracts for nuclear energy
- Defended company against federal investigation into explosions resulting from mixture of incompatible wastes
- Defended company against state/federal investigation of possible Clean Water Act violations
- Successful defense of professional negligence lawsuit that eliminated vicarious liability of New Hampshire real estate lawyers for errors of title abstractors. Lawyers Title v. Groff, 148 N.H. 333 (2002).
- Conducted internal investigation for company relating to potential criminal violations of the federal Toxic Substances Control Act
- Defended company in federal enforcement action under storm water discharge permitting statute
- Successful defense of numerous lawyers and law students before Professional Conduct Committee and Character and Fitness Committee
- Represented company in binding arbitration among multiple defendants relating to $6 million federal cost recovery action
- Defended municipality in multi-party toxic tort claim for construction-related contamination of drinking water
- Has prosecuted multiple criminal cases in state and federal court, including eight homicides to jury verdict (1989-92); Chief of Criminal Bureau (1990-91)
